Grebe Lake Trailhead

This 6.3-mile out-and-back trail begins along an old road that passes through patches of lodgepole pines (some burned) and occasional meadows, and eventually drops gradually, passing again through a cluster of trees and then arriving at the lake’s edge. Grebe Lake is the largest of the Chain Lakes, much of which is surrounded by marshy meadows, and has an abundance of waterfowl to enjoy watching. If you continue hiking the trail along the shoreline you will eventually connect with the Howard Eaton Trail. At this junction, if you take the trail heading west it leads to Wolf Lake and Ice Lake. If you take the trail heading east it takes you to Cascade Lake. Note: See fishing information under the general information for the Norris to Canyon Village road section.
