This valley is prime grizzly bear habitat and management area. As the road steadily climbs, look to the east and the valley below, or over on the distant hillsides across the valley, to spot a bear traveling the valley or roaming a hillside. Grizzly bears can be spotted from this high vantage point more easily. A good pair of binoculars or a spotting scope are recommended for a better view of these faraway points.
